I like the 40k fluff bible. It makes a good referance.
I heard that GW stamp on it wherever they find it… It being full of their IP.
Full of their IP? i'm not sure what IP means but it may not be completely inline with official stuff, but i think as a general book it seems to be okay. Can you expand on what you've heardt Zeph?
Their IP being their Intellectual Property. Some of it is copy/pasted straight out of old books. A guy called Brusilov used to keep a copy for download on the internet but he got a cease and desist order.
Indeed?…
Vexing.
I suppose lets leave it up there until we get some sort of reprimand. It may not be noticed. Its not like we're selling it, or claiming it as our own I.P. And at the very worst we could just add a line in the description that the information held with in is the IP of GW and be done with it.
That's not the latest version, but it is also a flagrant violation of GW IP. As Mr Zephy says, Brussie got a rather nasty letter from GW Legal asking him to out all the people that had contributed to the project so that GW Legal could send them snotty letters threatening them with court action, slavery, murder of your children, etc. Any site that it was found on was also shut down…
My suggestion? Remove it asap. Not only is it bad practice, but it makes it more difficult for fan sites that do conform to GW IP to exist. If you want to summarise the Imperium, or whatever, then write fan articles which do so. There are several available on the 'net, if they tend towards fan interpretations.
Just a suggestion.

I removed the Link and the File.
A very responsible attitude to the problem. If you ever get around to rewriting the materials that describe the Imperium, etc., I would be interested in reading those and see whether they have information that can be included in my own project.
