Any Individual of rank Outcast or below may pull himself up and become an Arbitrator
Any Individual of Rank Renegade or below may be conscripted as a Guardsman

Tech Priest

No Tech Priest may leave the Adeptus Mechanicus; once you're in, you're in. If you really want to, you may transition to the career paths of Servitor or Corpse.

System for transitioning to a career

Whenever you switch careers, you start at the lowest level of the new career. You pay the new costs of upgrades to characteristics, and lose the ability to buy from your old tables. You must pay the full price for any equipment in the starting character of that type that you do not already have. Character swaps are rare; you need permission from the GM, and they can refuse to let you do it mroe than once.

Adept

The character must have the Literacy Skill, at least one Common Lore Skill.

Arbitrator

You may not join if you have any major (defined by the GM) convictions.

Assassin

You must have all the Skills of a starting character before joining

Cleric

You must tithe 75% of your cash to the church, and spent much time in repentance.

Guardsman

The conscripting people take all your gear, and shake your head. You don't have to pay for the starting equipment, though.

Imperial Psyker

You have to roll on the Sanctioning table, as well as spend a great deal of time out of time out of game as you travel to Terra. In addition, you must make a Willpower check, or die on Terra, fed to the Throne.

Scum

You must have no cash left to join this career.

Tech Priest

The Adeptus Mechanicus will take a lot of effort to persuade you to join (a story in itself). You must also have an Int score of over 27 for them to accept you.
